Sweetop: All things artsy! ★

Siempre he sido del tipo artístico y con esto incluyo todo tipo de manualidades que me gusta experimentar: pintar, esculpir, diseño de moda. He hecho algunas cosas en el pasado de una manera muy informal, debido a que estuve muy enfocada en otros aspectos de mi carrera artística como cantante.

Luego de un inevitable cambio de prioridades, me tomé un break el año pasado para reorganizar mis proyectos que quería volver realidad: mi página web, un proyecto personal de diseño/fotografía/modelaje en mi Instagram @mayrahurley y otras cosas que a medida que vaya teniendo oportunidad de realizar, les iré compartiendo.

Así es como finalmente, luego de rato con esta idea en la cabeza, me aventuro. Formalizo un poco estos proyectos casuales que vengo haciendo hace rato, abriendo mi tienda online Sweetop, y dándole formaun sueño que tenía hace mucho.

Dicen que "el que mucho abarca poco aprieta" y puede ser cierto. Me meto en tantas cosas que es imposible dedicarse por completo a algo. Pero lo que sí les digo es que "no se trata de cantidad, si no calidad". Mi intención es seguir siempre intentando cosas nuevas. Sí: puede que no publique en mi blog todas las semanas, puede que no publique en mi insta a diario, puede que no pinte un par de zapatillas en semanas, puede que no me suba a un escenario en meses y puede que no actúe en un año, pero cuando lo hago (lo que sea que esté haciendo😂) voy por ello lo mejor que puedo, revisando cada detalle y esperando no decepcionarlos con éste o ninguno de mis proyectos hechos con todo el amor del mundo, porque eso es todo lo que puedes ofrecer cuando disfrutas lo que haces.

Entonces, ¿de dónde nace Sweetop?

Sweetop es un anglicismo típico en Colón, mejor conocido como el TON (town), ciudad donde nació mi madre y tengo familia. Mi abuela, madre y tía son muy talentosas al momento de trabajar telas, tejidos y diseños, por lo tanto esperen ver algunas de sus creaciones también en la tienda y conocer de sus historias.

¿Qué más pueden esperar?

¡De todo! más zapatillas, ropa diseñada por mí, accesorios de vestir, accesorios de hogar y decoración, cuadros todo que involucre trabajo manual y personalizado. También si tienes alguna pieza u objeto que quieres transformar, lo convertimos en una pieza única. Mejor dicho: ¿qué quisieras conseguir en mi tienda? Estoy tomando pedidos y puedo hacer envíos a cualquier parte del mundo.

I've always been the artsy type, including getting into all types of crafts: painting, sculpting, fashion design... I've done things in the past, but in a very informal way, since I was focused on other aspects of my artistic career as a singer.

After an inevitable change of priorities, I took a break last year to reorganize many projects I had been wanting to make a reality: my website launched June last year, a personal design/photography/modeling project on my Instagram @mayrahurley and other stuff I will be sharing in time.

Finally, after a while with this idea in my head, I venture. Formalizing a little these casual projects I´ve been doing for some time, I'm officially opening my online store Sweetop, which is a dream come true.

They say that "who focuses on everything has, in fact, no focus". That might be true. I get into so many things, it's impossible to stick to one full-time, but I can also tell you "it's not about quantity, but about quality". And I intend to keep always trying new things. Yes: I may not post on my blog every week, I might not post on my insta everyday, I might not paint a pair of kicks in weeks, I might not hit a stage to sing in months, I might not do a play in a year, but when I do it (whatever it is I'm doing😅) I'll go for it the best I can, looking put for every detail and hope not to disappoint you with this or any of my projects done with all love in the world, cause that's all you can offer when you enjoy what you do.

So where does Sweetop come from?

Sweetop is ALL THINGS ARTSY! A typical anglicism from Colón (Caribbean Coast City) where my mother was born and I have family. Mi grandma, mother and auntie are very talented with fabrics, knitting and design, so expect to see some of their creations here too and hear some of their stories.

What else can you expect?

Anything! More tennis shoes, clothes, fashion accessories, furniture, home decor, paintings... everything and anything involving handcrafts and a personalized touch. Also if you have a piece or object you want to transform, we will make a special and unique piece! Better said: What would you like to get from my shop? I´m taking orders and can ship anywhere in the world.
